Tamarindus indica

A tree that has fed people across the tropics for thousands of years, grown here as a graceful indoor specimen.Tamarindus indicaproduces dense, fern-like compound foliage made up of rows of tiny, paired leaflets that give it a fine, layered texture unlike any typical houseplant. The leaves fold closed at night, a gentle daily movement that adds character.
