Philodendron bayae

Philodendron bayae is a very rare climbing tropical aroid native to the wet forests of Colombia. It has fuzzy red petioles that make it really stand out.

Native to: Colombia, where it grows in humid, tropical cloud-forest understory.

Water: Keep soil consistently moist but never waterlogged. Water when the top third of the potting mix begins to dry, letting excess drain fully.

Light: Thrives in bright, indirect lightideal in an east- or north-facing window with diffuse light. It tolerates moderate shade but will suffer if exposed to direct sun.

Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity (5070%). Regular misting or a pebble tray is beneficial to maintain foliage quality, though typical indoor levels are usually sufficient .

Temperature: Performs best between 1827C, avoiding temperatures below 15C. UK indoor heating generally maintains suitable conditions year-round .
