Oxalis triangularis ‘Mijke’

Oxalis triangularis ‘Mijke’ produces clusters of deep burgundy-purple, triangular leaves held on slender stems above the soil. The colour is rich and saturated, and the constant opening and closing movement gives the plant a lively, responsive quality. In the right conditions it produces delicate sprays of small, pale pink or white flowers that contrast beautifully against the dark foliage.

Origins
Oxalis triangularis is native to Brazil, where it grows from small bulb-like rhizomes in warm, seasonally dry forest environments. ‘Mijke’ is a cultivar selected for the depth and consistency of its purple colouring.
