Monstera ‘Esqueleto’ – 15cm

Monstera ‘Esqueleto’, affectionately known as the skeleton monstera, is one of the most theatrical climbing aroids in cultivation. Mature leaves are enormous, thin, and deeply fenestrated, with long oval holes that extend far across the leaf blade and give the foliage a ribcage-like, skeletal silhouette.

Origins
Monstera ‘Esqueleto’, long traded under the name Monstera epipremnoides, is native to the cloud forests of Costa Rica, where it climbs the trunks of tall trees in cool, consistently humid, filtered-light conditions. Recent taxonomic work has reclassified plants in cultivation under the ‘Esqueleto’ name.

Soil and Substrate
Cloud forest aroids like ‘Esqueleto’ thrive in chunky, airy substrates that replicate the bark and mossy debris of their native habitat. Our Monstera & Philodendron Potting Mix suits the plant perfectly. The blend of bark, perlite, coco chips, and charcoal keeps roots well oxygenated and prevents rot.
