Lawn Chamomile

Fancy a lawn you didn’t have to mow that is fragrant? Well it was the Elizabethans that made this fragrant herb famous. Today with whipper snippers we can enjoy the fragrance and the flowers and then cut off the spent flowering stalks in spring to provide a tidy perennial lawn for most of the year. If you get an invite to Buckingham palace you will see why it is a favourite but here “down under” it must have moist soil protected from direct sun during the summer heat. Sufficient seed to cover 5 square metres. Also used as a decoy planting to draw snails from your vegie garden, making it easier to trap these voracious pests.
