Hydrangea macrophylla (Blue Flowering Form)

Hydrangea macrophylla (Blue Flowering Form), also known as Bigleaf Hydrangea or Blue Mophead Hydrangea, is a classic deciduous shrub prized for its large, vibrant blue flower heads and lush green foliage. It typically grows 1 to 1.5 metres high and wide, making it ideal for borders, containers, or feature planting. This hydrangea thrives in part shade and moist, well-draining, acidic soil to maintain its rich blue colour. Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during warmer months, and mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds. With its stunning blooms and easy-care nature, its a favourite for cottage gardens and shaded landscapes.
