Green Bean ‘Mascotte’

The ‘Mascotte’ green bean is a dwarf variety that is particularly attractive to gardeners who want to harvest abundantly in a confined space, whether in the vegetable garden, on a terrace, or even in a planter. Compact, neat, and very productive, this selection forms pretty plants with delicate white blossoms soon followed by long, slender, round, and crunchy pods. Its orderly habit makes it an excellent choice for container growing, where it combines yield, ease of maintenance, and visual elegance. In the kitchen, its tender and flavorful beans are distinguished by a delicate texture and a sweet taste, ideal for salads, stir-fries, or seasonal side dishes. Quick to mature, it allows for an early harvest, providing great satisfaction to impatient gardeners and small-space growers alike. With good sun exposure and in loose, well-drained soil, it grows steadily and offers generous pickings if harvested frequently. Its simple cultivation and good adaptability to balconies make it a valuable ally for greening urban environments while producing fresh vegetables within reach. It is a reliable, decorative, and delicious variety, perfect for combining horticultural pleasure, yield, and summer freshness.
