Fig ‘De L’Archipel’

An heirloom fig that has travelled the world; From France to England before arriving in California in 1889 where it was included in a trial to test viability and performance. Many suggest ‘Osborn’ and ‘De L’Archipel’ are the same variety, raised in different areas over time, but others argue that they are indeed different varieties. Fruit can be variable based on climate and growing conditions. .
