Denmoza erythrocephala

Denmoza erythrocephala is a slow-growing, columnar cactus that starts as a globular plant before elongating with age. Reaching up to 1.5 meters, its dark green body is covered in clusters of red-brown spines that contrast with its vibrant coloring. Its name, “erythrocephala,” refers to the red-headed flowers that emerge at the top of mature plants, forming in summer and taking years to develop. Native to the highlands of Argentina, this cactus thrives in arid environments, making it ideal for xeriscaping or a dramatic addition to any desert garden.
