Crassula ‘Tenelli’

Crassula ‘Tenelli’ is a miniature, mat-forming succulent that spills gently over the edge of its pot. Fine stems carry crowds of tiny green leaves, and given enough light the tips blush bronze to red. It stays small and tidy, which makes it a lovely desk or windowsill plant and a natural for a hanging display.

Origins. Like the rest of the genus, this Crassula comes from the dry regions of southern Africa, where it grows in bright, gritty conditions and stores water in its leaves to ride out long dry spells.

Care. Give it the brightest spot you can, ideally a few hours of direct sun. Water only when the compost has dried right through, then let it drain fully, since soggy roots are the one thing this plant will not forgive. A free draining succulent mix keeps it happy and normal room humidity is fine. As a trailing grower it looks its best spilling from a shelf or grouped with other hanging plants.
