APPLE DISCOVERY

A much-loved early dessert apple, Malus domestica ‘Discovery’ produces attractive spring blossom followed by reliable crops suited to Irish gardens. Grow in a sunny, sheltered spot with moist but well-drained, fertile soil for best flavour and colouring. Flowers in spring and fruits are typically ready in early season; enjoy them soon after picking as they do not store for long. For the heaviest crops, plant with a compatible apple that flowers at a similar time to assist pollination.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
