Alocasia macrorrhiza ‘Splash Variegated’

Alocasia macrorrhiza‘Splash Variegated’ takes the already impressive stature of the Giant Taro and adds generous dashes of creamy-white variegation scattered across each broad, upward-pointing leaf. The splashing is unpredictable: some leaves are lightly speckled, others carry wide sectors of white. It is a vigorous grower that can reach a substantial size indoors, producing thick, sturdy stems and leaves large enough to make a statement in any room. More forgiving than many variegatedAlocasias, tolerating a wider range of conditions.

Origins
Alocasia macrorrhizais native to tropical Southeast Asia and Oceania, where it grows in damp, shaded forest edges and along watercourses. ‘Splash Variegated’ is a cultivar selected for its scattered creamy-white variegation.
